Foundation launches new strategic framework
The Foundation’s Board of Trustees and leadership has been working hard to define our new mission statement and set strategic priorities that will define the next chapter of the Foundation’s work. The Foundation works with our mission in mind each day, newly defined as aspiring to:
Create transformational community impact by inspiring philanthropy and engaging the region.
In addition to defining an aspirational new mission, Kristin Todd, president & CEO, has dedicated her first year to understanding the needs of the community and the strengths of the Foundation. Her focus on community listening has informed a new strategic framework that paves an exciting path for growth and greater impact in the region. To this end, the Board recently approved an aspirational ten-year strategic vision, and we are gearing up for dramatic growth and impact.
The Foundation’s bold ten-year vision is to create positive, meaningful, and lasting change throughout Northern Colorado by 2032 by:
- investing $225 million in community grantmaking,
- growing assets under management to $500 million, and
- becoming the “go to” institution to address critical challenges.
With board input and staff collaboration, each strategic priority (see graphic) has been broken into several goals with clear action steps designed to support the Foundation’s work to create meaningful change in our community. Foundation’s 2021 Impact Report

Leaving a Legacy: Cynthia Leibrock
Cynthia and Frank Leibrock have a vision— elderly individuals and people with disabilities should be able to live in their homes. “Everybody wants to stay in their home. No one wants to be institutionalized. That’s what drives me,” says Cynthia. Their donor advised fund at the Foundation is helping make this dream a reality.
The Leibrocks’ Rehabitat Fund has financed the retrofitting of hundreds of houses to make them accessible for their elderly residents, helped cover the prohibitive transportation and medical expenses of older individuals in the Red Feather Lakes community, and allowed Cynthia to train dozens of university professors on universal design in her and Frank’s own accessibly designed home.

Staffing Update: Bittersweet goodbye to Wendy, Sweet hello to Francie
Wendy Banks
This month we are say a bittersweet farewell to our wonderful CFO Wendy Banks. During Wendy’s five years at the Foundation, she has come to be the heart of the organization, leading with kindness and empathy. Her contributions to the Foundation have been felt by every member of the staff, the board of trustees and the community. She has professionalized the Foundation’s finance and accounting, human resources, and operations departments, onboarded new software programs, worked directly with donors on complex gifts including gifts of real estate, water rights, and life income gifts. Wendy will be celebrated as she moves on to a new and exciting role with the Bohemian Foundation.
Francie Koehmstedt
We also welcome Francie Koehmstedt to the Foundation. As the new operations specialist, Francie oversees the front desk at the Community Foundation, greeting visitors and staff everyday with a friendly smile and sometimes, if we’re lucky, a sample of her delectable baked goods from her side business, Francie Pants Baked Goodies. Francie and her husband Steve have been longtime Fort Collins residents since their marriage 25 years ago. With her expansive administrative background, a trove of local knowledge, and a penchant for baking, Francie is certainly a “sweet” addition to the Foundation staff.
