Kristin Todd

President and CEO

Kristin leads the Foundation and guides our efforts as a service provider to philanthropists while helping to inspire impactful community projects. She is a lifelong proponent of philanthropy, and throughout her 25-year career, she’s experienced its ability to have a lasting – and meaningful – impact on communities. She previously served as executive vice president for the Daniels Fund, grew up in New Orleans (Geaux Saints), and earned her master’s degree from the University of Colorado. Her family relocated from Denver in the spring of 2021, and they are excited to spend time outdoors hiking, biking, exploring, and learning about Northern Colorado.

Wendy Banks

Chief Financial and Operating Officer

Wendy oversees all aspects of finance and accounting, handles risk mitigation, and manages operations and human resources.  Her expertise includes forecasting, financial modeling, and working with complex assets.  She received her accounting degree from the University of Colorado and has 20 years’ experience in nonprofit accounting. She can be found around the state enjoying concerts with her family.

Ella Fahrlander

Chief Engagement Officer

Ella leads community engagement efforts including fund-development, community initiatives, events and communications. During her tenure with the Foundation, she established the Foundation’s Nonprofit Loan Program, and led the effort to launch its flagship program, the Hach Center for Regional Engagement. Ella grew up in Crested Butte, Colo. where she developed her love of community and talent for collaboration. She enjoys spending time with her family, enjoying Colorado’s natural playground on skis or her mountain bike, and savors time with her horse Reba and dog Cora.

Mishelle Baun

Content and Media Specialist

Mishelle oversees content for the Foundation’s publications and serves as media specialist. She has an extensive background in marketing/communications and earned her degree from CSU. A fourth-generation Coloradan, she has served many nonprofits, including ChildSafe, Habitat for Humanity, Fort Collins Symphony, and Legacy Land Trust. She studied in Norway and loves to travel with her family.

Catherine Bucholz

Development Specialist

Catherine supports the chief engagement officer and works to implement the Foundation’s development plan. She utilizes the Raiser’s Edge skills she honed at the Grand Canyon Conservancy. Raised in San Antonio, she attended The University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn., and recently moved to Fort Collins with her family from Flagstaff, Ariz. She enjoys her dogs, and time outdoors, especially hiking and skiing.

John Chapdelaine

Director, Eastern Colorado Community Fund

John provides Foundation leadership to the Eastern Colorado Community Fund (ECCF) board and visibility throughout the Eastern Plains. John served for 30 years with the State of Colorado, as a teacher, principal, prison-education director, and warden on the Eastern Plains. John lives in Haxtun and is passionate about the sense of community in Eastern Colorado.

Mary Ericson

Communications Officer

Mary oversees the Foundation’s marketing and communication functions.  She has a passion for the nonprofit sector, and most recently served with CASA of Larimer County and The Matthews House. Raised in Greeley, she received her master’s in public administration from the University of Colorado, bachelor’s in business administration from Colorado State, and remains a loyal CSU Ram. She enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time in the sunshine with her family.

Codi Farrar

Operations and IT Specialist

Codi manages our office, takes care of visitors, provides technology support, and coordinates the internship program. She previously worked in healthcare administration and interned at the United Way of Larimer County as an undergrad at CSU. She volunteers for the Food Bank for Larimer County, and is pursuing a Master’s in Nonprofit Leadership at the University of Denver. In her free time, Codi can be found at concerts or Rockies baseball games.

Mandy Hoffman

Initiatives and Governance Officer

Mandy manages initiatives and membership for the Foundation’s flagship program, the Hach Center for Regional Engagement, and other strategic initiatives. A native of Fort Collins and a graduate of CSU, she has extensive knowledge of the Northern Colorado area and previously served as a director of prevention-based human services programs at a local nonprofit. She is currently pursuing her MBA and enjoys concerts, the outdoors, and all things Colorado.

Elizabeth Messerli

Philanthropic Services Officer

Elizabeth helps donors experience an easy and strategic approach to giving. She also provides staff leadership to community fund committees, supports nonprofit granting, and oversees the scholarship program. Elizabeth holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Northern Iowa and is a Certified Nonprofit Professional. She enjoys spending time with family, exploring Colorado, and discovering different cultures.

Carrie Miller

Philanthropic Services Specialist

Carrie processes approximately 1,200 grants each year, helps fund advisors gain access to their charitable funds, and serves as a customer service contact for current and potential donors. Carrie is a Colorado native from Windsor. She worked at the National Association for Interpretation for ten years before joining the Foundation.

Katie Romberg, CPA

Controller

Katie oversees accounting functions, manages the audit, and provides financial reporting to the Foundation and its stakeholders. She ensures that the Foundation meets its financial obligations in a timely manner and that it complies with generally accepted accounting principles. Katie graduated from Colorado Christian University and holds an active CPA license.

Sandra Sheffler

Philanthropic Services Specialist

Sandra supports philanthropic services by maintaining database records for donors, grants, and scholarships. She has 20 years’ experience in accounting-based positions, including 14 years in municipal government. A Longmont native, she’s lived in rural Loveland for 24 years, farming and doing custom hay for neighbors. Sandra enjoys traveling, family time, ATVing/camping/hiking and loves every type of animal; she has horses, cats, and cows.
