The Community Foundation of Northern Colorado is pleased to offer a selection of highly customized capacity-building consulting services for local nonprofits and a matching grant program to make this support more accessible.
Your community work is vital to our region. Yet, prioritizing organizational development and capacity building is often difficult given budget and time constraints. What if half of the cost of the service was covered? The NoCo Foundation’s newly revamped Next Level Nonprofits Matching Program provides an opportunity to engage with a range of nonprofit consultants to explore the challenge and customize some capacity support.
Whether you are a newer nonprofit still getting the hang of back-office software and processes, or a decades-old nonprofit ready to create a new strategic vision to take your impact to the next level — you will find a service that is just right for you, your team, and your Board of Directors. Can’t find a service you need? Let us know — we are committed to evaluating our offerings and adapting them based on what our Northern Colorado nonprofits need and request!
How do I know what service to choose?
You know your organization best. Start with the six high-level capacity areas – what is the problem you want to solve. We’ll connect you to one or more local consultants participating in this program to start exploring solutions.
Once you’ve decided what best suits your organization’s needs, you may apply for matching funding of up to $5,000 to support the work. If we have questions or need additional information, we will be in touch. If approved by the Foundation’s Impact Committee, the nonprofit pays 50%, and the NoCo Foundation matches the remaining 50%. It’s a win-win!
How do I apply?
Visit our application portal to start the process. Answer a few questions about your organization and your specific capacity-building needs and hit submit. Our NoCo Foundation staff will review your application and be in touch within 20 business days. Applications are open year-round, on a rolling basis, however, the Impact Committee approves applications in April, August, and October.
Organizations are invited to apply for one service once a year.
Priority will be given to nonprofits who hold funds at the NoCo Foundation, however, it is not a requirement. We ask that all organizations that participate in the matching program complete a post-service evaluation once the project has ended. We are eager to hear about the outcomes of your work.
