Becoming a fundholder at the NoCo Foundation isn’t the only way to help make a positive impact in your community.
There are many avenues of collaborative giving that allow you to make donations without opening a personal fund. Giving groups, corporate giving, and our community funds are great options and allow pooled money to be activated for a specific cause.
Giving Groups
A giving group is composed of community-minded people who pool their charitable dollars in a common fund. Members enhance their understanding of philanthropy and appreciation for the valuable work of local nonprofit agencies. Members are welcome to make an annual donation, observe its impact, and attend annual celebrations. Two current giving groups that you can donate to are NoCo CARES and Loveland Generations.
NoCo CARES (Community Awareness of Resources, Enrichment, and Services) Fund promotes awareness of philanthropic needs in Northern Colorado and aims to educate others to make a difference in the Southern Larimer County community. You can learn more about and donate to NoCo CARES here!
Loveland Generations is a giving group of the NoCo Foundation. Members of this group enhance their understanding of philanthropy and their appreciation for the valuable work of local nonprofit agencies. The Loveland Generations Fund was established in 2000 to support projects and organizations that benefit Loveland residents. This giving group solicits grant proposals once a year and gives preference to those who serve Loveland youth.
The group has three levels of membership: Diamond ($1,000); Gold ($750); and Silver ($500). Make an online donation to the Loveland Generations Fund. To donate by mail, make your check payable to the Community Foundation and send to 4745 Wheaton Dr., Fort Collins, CO, 80525. Please write “Loveland Generations” in the Memo line.
Corporate Giving
One way companies can take part in corporate giving is by creating a fund through the NoCo Foundation and granting money to different charitable causes. Through corporate giving, companies can choose specific causes they want to help fund and grant money to one or more projects.
The GroupGives Fund serves as the charitable arm of The Group Real Estate. This fund was established with a focus on helping people get into and stay in their homes through educational programs, home maintenance and improvement, and financial assistance. Grants from GroupGives are meant to fund strategic, one-time projects aligned with their mission. You can help support the GroupGives mission by donating to this fund!
Community Funds
The Community Funds are another great method for collaborative giving. The committees for these funds are comprised of community members from the same community. There are community fund committees (CFCs) in Berthoud, Estes Valley, Fort Collins, Loveland, and Sterling. Volunteer committee members provide input to our Board and staff on where the funds should go. Residents of these communities can donate to the funds that will then be granted to nonprofits serving those regions.
