What’s Your Charitable Giving Focus?

In 2024, the NoCo Foundation released Northern Colorado Intersections: Pursuing Regional Well-Being, an analysis of regional indicators that identified six key intersections where pressures and opportunities converge. These intersections shape much of our work, including this showcase of our nonprofit partners.  Explore each intersection, discover the organizations that are driving impact in these focus areas, and join us in supporting their efforts to strengthen our community.

Connecting

The process of sharing a common experience, state, or bond with others, which may include spiritual, emotional, or cultural connections.

Priority Issues: Education, social connectivity and belonging, recreation

Beautifying

The process of enhancing, improving, or adorning to emphasize desirable features and/or to express significance, meaning, or value.

Priority Issues: Cultural expression, music, arts

Ballet Renaissance

Ballet Renaissance, translating literally from French as “Dance Rebirth,” is a publicly supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, committed to educating and inspiring youth and the community through the art of classical ballet. Established in June of 1997, in Detroit, Michigan, Ballet Renaissance originated when a group of college dance majors and graduates began presenting community performances focused on inspiring, uplifting, and uniting individuals through the transformative power and expression of dance. The group held a belief that “like casting a pebble on still water,” dance sends out ripples of creativity, generosity, and authenticity that can help heal and repair our world. In 2011, Ballet Renaissance expanded to northern Colorado. Ballet Renaissance seeks to eliminate financial barriers to exceptional training and offers year-round ballet classes and performance opportunities to dancers of all experience levels (ages 4+).

Nourishing

The process of providing all that is necessary for health growth, development, and physical, mental, and emotional conditions. Nourishment is one of the most basic, but important indicators of well-being on both an individual and regional scale.

Priority Issues: Agriculture, water, energy transitions, food security

Renewing

The process of rejuvenating, renewing vitality and energy, and creating ourselves, our relationships and our places anew. Continuing and bettering our communities through civic engagement, philanthropy, and volunteerism. Renewing involves a regenerative mindset in which we give, care for, and engage in our communities to help everyone achieve well-being.

Northern Colorado United for Youth

Northern Colorado United for Youth’s (NOCO UNIFY) is a fundraising catalyst in the community for organizations serving at-risk youth. Through philanthropy, it provides opportunities to young and emerging leaders for personal growth, leadership development, and a sense of community. NOCO UNIFY hosts annual events with the intent of generating significant funds for youth-focused nonprofits throughout Northern Colorado. NoCo Unify’s events grow each year – raising more dollars to fund important organizations and promoting a culture of giving in the region.  reaching outside of the region and state for matching dollars to further leverage the community giving at each event.

Sheltering and Caring

Facilitating access to a place of stability and renewal that supports individuals in achieving personal growth and long-term well-being.

Priority Issues: Affordable housing, aging population, healthcare, childcare

Transacting

The process of exchanging goods, services, or information with the intention of fulfilling a particular need, desire, or objective.

Priority Issues: Workforce, rural economies, transportation

Much of the work in the Transacting Intersection is done by larger systems—like school districts and post-secondary entities in partnership with the nonprofit sector.
