What is the Organizational Enhancement Matching Program?

The Community Foundation of Northern Colorado is pleased to offer a selection of highly customized capacity building consulting services for local nonprofits – at a deeply discounted rate.*

Your community work is vital to our region. Yet, prioritizing organizational enhancement is often difficult given budget and time constraints. What if half of the cost of the service were covered? Introducing the Foundation’s newest addition to our nonprofit support programs, the Organizational Enhancement Matching Program.

Whether you are a newish nonprofit still getting the hang of back-office software and processes, or a decades old nonprofit seeking clarity on goals, mission, and direction – you will find a service that is just right for you, your team, and your Board of Directors. Don’t find a service you need? Let us know – we are committed to evaluating our offerings and adapting them based on what our Northern Colorado nonprofits need and request!

How do I know what service to choose?

Only you know your own organization. Review the five consulting services below, speak with your leadership team, or colleagues, then apply for the one that fits best for you now. Once you submit the application, the Foundation and consultants will review your responses. If we have questions or need additional information, we will be in touch. Consulting fees are discounted for this specific program. The nonprofit pays 50%, and the Foundation matches the remaining 50%. It’s a win -win!

How do I apply?

Visit our application portal to start the process. Answer a few questions about your organization and your specific capacity building need and hit submit. Foundation staff will review your application and be in touch within 20 business days. Applications are open year-round, on a rolling basis.

Organizations are invited to apply for one service once a year.

Priority will be given to nonprofits who hold funds at the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado. All organizations who participate in the matching program are required to complete a post-service evaluation once the project has ended.

*The discounted consulting fees are only available to nonprofits headquartered in the counties within the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado’s service area: Larimer,  Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington, and Yuma Counties.

In 2016, The Matthews House participated in the Foundation’s StratOp Nonprofit Training program. We are pleased to bring this program back in a new form with even more options for nonprofits.

Jerri Schmitz | Former Executive Director, The Matthews House

“The StratOp process was exactly what The Matthews House needed during our season of fast paced growth. It provided the platform to engage our entire team in problem-solving with a forward thinking approach. We knew where we had been; we now needed to focus on the next steps. Being a comprehensive plan, StratOp is now our only strategic plan which brings together daily operations, finances and program development. This central plan keeps our focus sharp with a clearly identified plan for the future. Thank you, Community Foundation, for introducing us to StratOp and making it possible for us to participate. I can guarantee you it isn’t a notebook on our shelf. It is essential in guiding us to understand what has been instrumental in our current impact, but also how to strategically plan for future impact in all we seek to accomplish.”
