About Us Board of Trustees

The NoCo Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees consisting of community leaders from throughout Northern Colorado. Trustees are selected for having demonstrated personal involvement in civic affairs and a high level of commitment and philanthropic leadership in our community. The NoCo Foundation is also supported by numerous committees. Learn more about our Board members below!

Michael Bellus

Michael Bellus is a Market President at Bank of Colorado. He has been active in many facets of the Northern Colorado community; including serving a 7-year board term with the local non-profit, Respite Care. Currently, Michael serves on the Impact Committee at the NoCo Foundation and was previously a board member for several other organizations. He has also participated in the Leadership Fort Collins and Leadership Loveland programs and was a two-time Rotarian of the Year with the Mountain View Rotary Club. Michael is married to his wife, Lindsay, and has a son, Marek, who is 16. They enjoy skiing, golfing, PSD Stars Hockey, boating, and traveling.

Jay Dokter

Jay Dokter is a business executive and serial entrepreneur who has been a leader in many successful start-ups and fast-growing companies. Jay is presently the President/CEO of Vergent Products, an end-to-end, full-service contract manufacturer. He was also the founder of the non-profit Warehouse Business Accelerator in Loveland. Jay serves on the Loveland Business Partnership board, is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Colorado Angels/Rockies Venture Club, Colorado’s Advanced Industries grant review board, supports the City of Loveland and northern Colorado’s economic development initiatives, and is an active business mentor.

Kirby Hazelton

Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Kirby has lived in Colorado for almost twenty years, fourteen of those in Estes Park. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Colorado College. She has spent most of her career in marketing and communications, along with successful stints as a small business owner. After several years of volunteering on nonprofit boards, she is serving her first term on the Town of Estes Park Board of Trustees.

Jim Hendrix*

Jim founded and serves as chairman of Progressive Agricultural Management, LLC, a multi-state, irrigated farm production company. Pro-Ag produces organic grains and forages for a large, integrated organic dairy company, along with both organic and conventional popcorn which are exported internationally. It also raises all of the light red kidney beans used by Popeyes fast-food company. Jim serves on the boards of two other foundations, and on his local hospital board. Jim and his wife Twila established a Donor Advised fund with the Foundation in 2018.

Amy Hummel

Amy is a dedicated resident of Berthoud, which she has called home for 30 years. Her commitment to community service is evident through her involvement in various roles, including serving on the Larimer Humane Society Board and numerous volunteer positions. Amy is the driving force behind the creation of NoCo CARES, a giving group under the NoCo Foundation umbrella, that serves the Northern Colorado Community. Beyond her philanthropic endeavors, Amy finds joy in exploring the world alongside her husband, Paul. Whether it’s through travel adventures or enjoying a round of golf, she values the moments shared with her family. Amy isa proud parent to three adult children, Taylor, Haley, and Jack.

Ann Hutchison, CAE

Ann has been with the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce for nearly 20 years and serves currently as its president and CEO.  During her tenure with the Chamber, she has directly managed the communications and event departments, assisted in the day-to-day operation of the Chamber and managed issues and political advocacy as well as the Chamber’s Leadership Fort Collins and Leadership Northern Colorado programs.  Most recently, she has been a key leader in the community pandemic economic Response, Recovery and Reignite efforts.

LeAnn Massey

LeAnn retired as the Executive Director of Respite Care in 2022, after working with the Northern Colorado nonprofit for 25 years. She continues to volunteer with Respite Care and the children they serve. A third generation native of Fort Collins she enjoys consulting with nonprofit agencies in board development and strategic planning. LeAnn, her husband David, and their children and grandchildren enjoy the mountains, the beach and Colorado State University athletics.

Nick Roe (Chair)*

Nick is vice president-risk consultant at HUB International, providing insurance solutions and risk management expertise to middle market organizations in Colorado. Nick  has previously served as chairman for the Loveland Chamber of Commerce, on the board of directors for the Loveland Business Partnership, and as chair of the Community Foundation’s Loveland  Fund Committee. Nick lives in Loveland with his wife, Erin and their three kids, Jack, Joe and Jordyn.

Russell J. Sprague

Russell is an attorney with 16 years of experience. He currently practices at Cline William, which has offices in Northern and Eastern Colorado. His litigation practice focuses primarily on commercial/business issues, real estate, employment, franchise/distribution, and probate litigation, with an emphasis on agricultural issues. Russell was named by 5280 Magazine as a top agricultural lawyer of 2023 and a BizWest Top Real Estate Lawyer in 2023. Russell resides in Fort Collins with his wife and children.

Nicole Staudinger

Nicole Staudinger is a market president at FirstBank, Colorado’s second largest bank and one of the largest privately-held banks in the nation. She is an active member of the community, currently serving as treasurer for the Colorado State University’s Green & Gold Foundation and on the executive committee of the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce. Nicole currently resides outside of Fort Collins. She and her husband, Ty, have six children.

Laurie Steele

Laurie Steel is the Senior Vice President of Burns Marketing but is in the process of retiring. She is one of the original members of the UCHealth System Board and a board member of the Yampa Valley Medical Center hospital in Steamboat. Previously, she was a member of the PVH and MCR Boards, the United Way Board, and the Partners Board. Laurie is a Colorado State University Graduate and lives in Windsor with her husband, Kelly. They have two grown sons with families who also live in Northern Colorado.

Marla Trumper*

Marla has been energetically supporting the Northern Colorado community for more than 25 years. She has served on several community boards including Boys and Girls Club, Fort Collins Museum of Discovery, WISH, and CSU Development Councils. Most recently, Marla worked at Colorado State University in Presidential Donor Engagement. Previously, she managed health nonprofits, including Cystic Fibrosis and American Diabetes Association. She is now creating her next professional endeavor while chairing the Community Foundation Impact Committee. Marla along with her husband, Rocci treasure time together with family and friends. They have two grown children with super spouses rounding out their unit.

Mike White

Rear Admiral (retired) Michael White grew up in Denver, CO, and was commissioned into the Navy in 1983 after attending the University of Colorado. During his career, he completed flight school and flew the A-7E Corsair II and the F/A-18 Hornet. He commanded a Strike-Fighter Squadron, a Carrier Air Wing, the NIMITZ Carrier Strike Group, and several shore-based organizations. His final tour on active duty was as the Commander of Naval Education and Training Command, overseeing the schools that provided initial and career education to Sailors. He retired from active duty in 2017 and served as the Dean of the College of Maritime Operational Warfare at the Naval War College. In February 2022, he became the proud President of Northeastern Junior College. President White has been a member of the Eastern Colorado Advisory Board for two years and has been chair for both years.

Brad Wind

Brad Wind has been with Northern Water since 1994, bringing decades of experience and leadership to the organization. He currently serves as General Manager, having previously held roles as an engineer and Deputy Manager of Operations. Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District was created to jointly operate and maintain the federally owned Colorado-Big Thompson Project with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. Brad serves on the NoCo Water Alliance and has been integral in moving that group’s work forward.
