Wanted: Community Impact News
Breaking Good News is getting a refresh. Welcome to the Nonprofit Newsflash! While we loved sharing your good news of all shapes and sizes, we want to shine a spotlight on the incredible impact nonprofits are making every day in our communities. From heartwarming success stories to innovative solutions, Nonprofit Newsflash will celebrate the heroes who are changing lives, one act of kindness at a time. Nonprofit Newsflash isn’t just about news—it’s about a community united for a better tomorrow.
If you are a 501(c)(3) organization that serves Northern and Eastern Colorado residents, please submit recent stories of impact through Nonprofit Newsflash. We may post these stories on our social media channels, our website and, possibly, create a larger story from your submission for our newsletter!
GUIDELINES:
DO:
- Focus on an achievement or current story that shows your impact on our region.
- Examples include grant funding awards, programs or services that grant funded, how your programs have impacted the community, etc.
- Share post-event success stories.
- Examples include funds raised and what they are for, what your event accomplished, and who benefits from your event.
- Submit engaging photos that compliment your story.
- Highlight significant grants (high dollar amount) and how it will help you create impact.
- Share the published Nonprofit Newsflash with your community and on your digital tools.
DON’T:
- Announce or advertise upcoming events.
- Announce money raised unless you also share what it’s supporting.
- Announce changes to your organization’s Board positions or its staff.
- Actively fundraise for your organization or for a campaign.
- Highlight grants received through our community funds or giving groups.
- Submit photos unless you have express permission to share the photo or, if a subject is under 18 years of age, you must acknowledge that you have a photo release form on file.
- Submit more than two Nonprofit Newsflash items within a 12-month period.
Fictional Example
Instead of: NoCo Foundation raised $200k at its annual event.
We want: NoCo Foundation’s annual event raised enough money to provide 15 families with housing for the next year.
