Meet the Foundation

At the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado (NoCo Foundation), we foster collaboration, serve as a catalyst for community projects, and are a trusted steward and service provider to philanthropists and nonprofit organizations.

We distributed more than $12 million into the community in FY24, manage and administer over 620 charitable funds and over $230 million in assets (as of November 2024). Donations are tax deductible, and grants are distributed to public charities, schools, and churches based on the charitable intent of our donors. Our staff and board are 100% local, and we have served Northern Colorado since 1975.

The NoCo Foundation meets national standards for operational quality, donor service, and accountability in the community foundation sector. This accreditation provides our donors with peace of mind and the knowledge that funds are managed in compliance with established best practices and the highest standards for community philanthropy.

Strategic Goal

The Community Foundation of Northern Colorado’s mission is to create transformational community impact by inspiring philanthropy and engaging the region. We do this by serving as a thought leader, a nonpartisan convener, and a catalyst for community initiatives. Community is our business. The Board of Trustees recently approved an aspirational ten-year strategic vision to help drive our dramatic growth and transformational community priorities.

Service Areas

Since 1975, the NoCo Foundation has proudly served our region by promoting local philanthropy. In partnership with generous donors and dedicated volunteers, the NoCo Foundation is working to ensure a bright future for Northern Colorado. We currently serve five communities in Northern Colorado.

Regional Approach to Philanthropy

Pursuing regional impact can be complex. We like to break it down into three buckets: Philanthropic Services, Nonprofit Support, and Community Engagement. While the work in the first two buckets is focused on Larimer County and Eastern Colorado, the third focuses on Northern and Eastern Colorado, including Larimer and Weld County.
