Keynote Speaker: Tom Murphy
Tom Murphy is a senior resident fellow and Canizaro/Klingbeil Families Chair for Urban Development at the Urban Land Institute. As a former mayor of Pittsburgh (1994-2005), Tom initiated a public/private partnership strategy that leveraged more than $4.5 billion in economic development in the city.

Destination Downtown Loveland 2013 – Piecing the Puzzle

Keynote Speaker: Ed McMahon
As the Senior Fellow for Sustainable Development at Urban Lands Institute, Ed lead worldwide efforts to conduct research and educational activities related to environmentally sensitive development policies and practices. Author or co-author of 15 books and over 300 articles, he is a leading authority on topics related to economic development, land conservation, smart growth, and historic preservation.

Over 200 people gathered on Oct. 30, 2013, at the Rialto Theater to engage in a conversation about the look and feel of a revitalized downtown. The event featured a wide variety of speakers with a look at Downtown Loveland’s past and a peek into the future.

Keynote Speaker: Bill Hudnut

During his 16-year tenure (1976-1991) as Mayor of Indianapolis, Mr. Hudnut was regarded as “an entrepreneurial leader willing to take prudent risks” (The Toledo Blade). With a goal of building a “cooperative, compassionate, and competitive” city, he spearheaded the formation of a public-private sector partnership that led to Indianapolis’ emergence during the 1980s as a major American city.
