Congratulations to Jessie Almeida, Berthoud Habitat for Humanity‘s first homeowner who recently paid off his house and is mortgage free! Jessie initially purchased his Habitat home in September of 2003 and is enjoying the fruits of his labor and the many benefits of homeownership. Berthoud Habitat for Humanity became a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International in 2000.
