Loveland Generations, a committee-advised fund of the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado, awarded a combined $29,199 to seven nonprofit recipients:
- Aspire 3D – Strengthening Families Together
- Colorado Foundation for Conductive Education – funding for Medicaid-covered participants
- Loveland Preschool – health and safety upgrades and extracurricular programming
- Project Self-Sufficiency – SelfPower for single parent families
- Safe Families for Children – programming in Loveland
- Sleep in Heavenly Peace – No kid sleeps on the floor in our town!
- Thompson Valley Preschool – Link to Learning
These grants are intended to significantly impact the Loveland community. Aspire 3D’s Strengthening Families Together project demonstrates how these funds will do just that.
Brittany first learned of Aspire 3D during one of the darkest moments of her life. As a single mother dealing with mental health issues, Brittany had been self-medicating with substances and subsequently lost custody of her children. She lacked a support system, ended up losing her job, and was unable to see a path forward.
When Brittany connected with Aspire 3D’s Strengthening Families Together program, her first step toward healing was mental health treatment. Her navigator connected her with resources to begin working through her issues. She chose to attend an onsite parent education and support group while addressing her mental health, giving her an immediate support system. Brittany finally had people believing in her, and she began to believe in herself. Over the course of her treatment, Brittany stopped self-medicating, found employment she enjoys, and strengthened her parenting skills, eventually regaining custody of her children. Her story doesn’t end there– Brittany now facilitates a parent education and support group to help others in challenging circumstances succeed as parents and successful contributors to society.
The Loveland Generations grant will help Aspire 3D expand programming to two additional sites. Brittany is one example of the many whose lives will be changed through the support of Loveland Generations.
