A Little Help

A Little Help (ALH) believes aging is a journey best supported through community. It connects older adults with caring neighbors who offer occasional assistance and meaningful connection—empowering everyone to thrive in the homes and communities they love. Through its vibrant community of volunteers of all ages, older adults receive assistance with services such as yard maintenance, transportation, technology help, snow shoveling, friendly calls/visits, and more. There is no cost to older adults to receive these services, and nearly 3,000 services are provided yearly thanks to A Little Help’s volunteer-powered model and philanthropic hearts. ALH is deeply committed to improving the social and economic well-being of older adults across Northern Colorado. As the aging population grows, so does the urgency to invest in community-based solutions that address isolation, mental health, and access to essential services. ALH offers a scalable solution that keeps older adults healthier, more connected, and stable in their homes.

Alternatives to Violence

Alternatives to Violence provides shelter, advocacy, education, and resources for people impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Services offered to the community without cost include emergency shelter, court advocates, housing resource services, and community education programs. Each year, it provides these services to over 1,600 people.

ChildSafe Colorado

ChildSafe transforms lives by providing hope and healing to children and families affected by abuse in Northern Colorado. With offices in Fort Collins and now Loveland, it delivers a comprehensive continuum of trauma-focused mental health services that are financially accessible and tailored to support both immediate intervention and long-term recovery. ChildSafe’s work centers around children who have experienced abuse, their non-offending family members, and adult survivors—offering specialized individual and group therapy, family support, and trauma-informed parenting courses.

Disabled Resource Services

Disabled Resource Services empowers individuals of all ages and abilities to achieve maximum independence, promoting dignity, confidence, and full inclusion into the community. DRS is addressing housing and benefits navigation for the 55+ population. With the aging population on the rise, many seniors do not know how to access the benefits they may be eligible for or how to navigate affordable housing. DRS is one of 2 locations in Colorado that are certified benefits enrollment centers. When a person walks into DRS, they are immediately paired with an Independent Living Specialist who will complete an intake and benefits evaluation. The specialist works with the individual to set a goal and a strategy to achieve that goal. Disabled Resource Services assists people to live more independently and thrive in the community.

EVICS Family Resource Center

EVICS Family Resource Center is dedicated to strengthening and supporting families in Estes Valley. It addresses the challenges of limited access to affordable childcare, family mental health services, and essential community resources.

Its strategies include:

• Providing tuition assistance for working families
• Offering bilingual family advocacy and mental health support
• Connecting families to early childhood education, parenting classes, and community resources
• Partnering with local agencies to ensure coordinated care

EVICS’ impact is seen in children who thrive, families who feel supported, and a stronger, more connected community. It aims to build a future where every child has the opportunity to succeed and every family has the tools they need to grow and prosper.

The Family Center/La Familia

The Family Center/La Familia supports access to high-quality early childhood education and holistic family support for the Latinx and working-class communities of Northern Colorado. It addresses systemic barriers—such as language, income, and cultural disconnects—that prevent families from accessing the resources they need to thrive. Its strategies include early childhood education through the El Nidito program, family support services, parenting classes, mental health education, advocacy, and leadership development through initiatives like Mi Voz. It also prioritizes staff well-being to ensure the caregivers in our community are supported and empowered. Its impact is reflected in stronger, healthier families; children who are better prepared for school and life; and a more connected, resilient community where all voices—especially those historically overlooked—are heard and valued.

Foster & Adoptive Families

Foster & Adoptive Families promotes and improves the welfare of children, with special interest in foster, kinship, guardianship, and adoptive families. It provides education, training, and support to meet the physical, psychological, and emotional needs of children. Foster & Adoptive Families also offers financial assistance for extracurricular activities, medical and educational needs, family activities, and more.

Homeward Alliance

Homeward Alliance empowers individuals and families who face homelessness to survive, move forward, and thrive. Its goals are intentionally aligned with the goals of the Northern Colorado Continuum of Care: to end and prevent homelessness for as many people as possible immediately and functionally end homelessness across the region. The organization provides a range of services for over 4,500 individuals each year. It operates the Murphy Center (MC)—host to about 20 independent nonprofits and the hub of services for people experiencing housing insecurity in Larimer County—and hosts numerous case management programs that provide long-term, best-practice interventions to diverse subpopulations (people exiting incarceration, people who are chronically homeless, families, and more). Homeward Alliance provides evidence-based services that produce positive outcomes for people experiencing or seeking to avoid homelessness and, simultaneously, lead or participate in system-level efforts to address the issue.

Joy & Justice

Joy & Justice supports families recovering from domestic violence by creating joyful, healing experiences for children and their safe parent while advocating for stronger protection from the courts. The Joy Program works in partnership with organizations in Larimer County that provide emergency services, shelter, therapy, and financial support, and adds its own component: healing through joy. For a full year, families get opportunities for birthday parties, trips, events, extracurricular activities, and more. Joy & Justice helps restore connection, normalcy, and hope, because trauma steals childhood and joy gives it back! Through the Justice Program, it engages key players in the legal system, judges, attorneys, child advocates, and law enforcement to improve how cases involving domestic violence are understood and handled. It advocates for the safety of children in the divorce process, working within Larimer County and throughout Colorado to ensure the courts better protect children.

L’Arche Northern Colorado

L’Arche Northern Colorado is an intentional community of people with and without disabilities who live, work, and share life together. It directly addresses the social exclusion of people with disabilities by creating a community of welcome, connection, and belonging. It is now building a 6-bed, 4-bath, universal design-aligned home at Heartside Hill in SE Fort Collins, where it will provide long-term, stable, affordable housing for people with intellectual disabilities. L’Arche’s first home will be completed in October 2025, and with the support of our local community, our second home is scheduled to be completed in October 2026. For over 60 years, L’Arche has been creating inclusive communities where people are celebrated for being who they are, as they are. L’Arche Northern Colorado is excited to be the first L’Arche community in the Rocky Mountain Region!

Loveland Housing Authority

Since 1971, the Loveland Housing Authority (LHA) has provided low- and moderate-income residents of Loveland and the surrounding communities with opportunities for home and community through affordable housing. LHA also helps people realize their ability to manage their lives with dignity through strategic partnerships, developing innovative and affordable housing solutions, opening new affordable properties in Loveland and the surrounding communities, and continuing to improve its properties.

However, to truly thrive requires more than housing. It requires access to quality education, healthcare, jobs, financial services, and more. Aspire was born out of that vision. Aspire is the nonprofit resident service partner of LHA, and its mission is to provide LHA residents with individualized support that promotes increased well-being, independence, and economic security. Aspire also administers LHA’s scholarship program, which is available to residents and Section 8 voucher holders to help finance their education.

Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud

Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud (MOWLB) seeks to nourish and enrich the lives of homebound individuals by providing nutritious meals and daily contact with a caring volunteer. Many of its clients face food insecurity, live on fixed incomes, and experience social isolation, which is linked to a range of negative health outcomes, including depression, cognitive decline, and increased mortality. MOWLB’s goal is to ensure that these vulnerable individuals have consistent access to nutritious food, human connection, and critical support services that promote health, safety, and independence. To address these needs, MOWLB delivers hot, scratch-cooked meals five days a week, with additional frozen and shelf-stable meals available as needed. Every meal is carefully planned and nutritionally analyzed to support healthy aging. In 2024,delivered nearly 93,000 meals to over 780 clients and anticipates serving over 800 individuals with more than 100,000 meals in 2025.

Respire Care, INC

Respite Care, Inc. provides short-term, quality care for children with developmental disabilities and respite to their families, enabling them to enhance their quality of life. that a child with a disability is a child first and that his or her challenges are secondary. With this mission and philosophy in mind, Respite Care strives to create an interactive, stimulating, and safe environment that addresses the physical, emotional, and social needs of each individual child.
